Winnie The Pooh Birthday Cake – 23 Sept 14

Dear Nicola
Hope you are well.
I’m seriously lost for words! (And that rarely happens!)
Thank you so so much! The cake was an absolute success! It was the centre piece at the party, we all took photos and Giulia kept making the bees noise and blowing kisses to the figurines!
It was so beautiful that I didn’t want to cut it but once cut the cake was so delicious! People asked for second portions and got told it was amazing!
Thank you thank you and thank you!
Just thought I would let you know how amazing it was.

Light Up Your Wedding Cake!

Depending on the venue, we do try to encourage brides (although many don’t need any encouragement!) to place their wedding cake in the centre of the room.  By doing so, you create a wonderful focal point as the guests enter the wedding breakfast room.  It also enables your guests to get closer to the cake and marvel over the detail – 360 degrees.  So much better than having your cake stuck in a dark corner.  You will also enable your photographer to get much better ‘cake cutting’ pictures too.

Furthermore, if you haven’t already considered special effects lighting for your wedding day, then I beg you to build it into your budget today!  We have worked on some amazing weddings and event productions and I can honestly say that the ‘icing on the cake’ is the effects lighting that is used to bring the party to life.

Lighting effects can create the most dramatic ambience, whether your venue is a church hall or a royal palace.   And, if you want your wedding cake to look absolutely spectacular, then having it lit up in the centre of the room is the most dramatic effect you could possibly create.

We have worked with lots of production companies but if you are looking for a recommendation, then we would highly endorse Effect Event - managed and owned by Duncan Owen.  Duncan and his team have ‘lit up’ many many events across London and the South East – from small corporate dinners to the grandest of weddings.  Not only very experienced and talented in what they do, they are a really down to earth bunch of guys that are just easygoing and great to work with.

I have posted a few examples here of our wedding cakes that have been lit up, centre stage.  My favourite of these images is the first one – this was actually Effect Event at One Lombard Street in London.  This venue has the most incredible dome ceiling and the lighting against the night sky was just ‘WOW’

Party and Birthday Cakes!

We do all different types of cakes for all events and occasions all over London, Kent, Essex and Surrey.  Birthdays, Christenings, Corporate Events, Baby Showers…  you name it, and we have made a cake for it

We have tagged in some images here of some occasional cakes we have made over the last year or so.

Probably the majority of occasional cakes we make are for christenings and birthdays and the Disney characters are always very popular for both of these occasions – especially with the girls (or should I say the mums!)  One of my favourite cakes show here is the pink and white disney cake featuring Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Winnie the Pooh.

For boys, Disney Cars cakes have been really popular over the past couple of years and we have done many many Lighning McQueen car cakes.

Teddy Bears picnic is quite popular for a summer christening cake and here is one that we did last year for a family hosting a vintage/summer fete style afternoon tea, following their daughers christening.

We have also done quite a few corporate event cakes and show here is one we did for the Pudential at the Old Royal Naval College in Green last year.

We are proud to say that we have now become quite well know for creating cakes that have the wow factor and we have made some biggies over the years!  The Thunderbirds cake shown here (Tracey Isiand) is one of my favourites in this category.

Shown here are just a snaphot of the party cakes we have made, take a look in our  Occasional Gallery to see more…
