We do so many different cakes..
Many of our cakes are specifically themed around an idea, or TV programme or film… but very often people just want a lovely cake – perhaps for a 50th, a girlie get together.. it is these cakes that just need to be kept very simple, clean and elegant.
We absolutely love our ‘Stripes and Bows’ design which is very popular at the moment. Perfect if there is no specific theme, but just a beautiful cake required… An ombre design is also another way of including a favourite colour whilst adding texture and detail.
Here is the wedding cake we designed and created for Grace & Joe for their wedding at The Andaz Hotel in Liverpool Street, London.
Grace had seen one of our designs online- Latte Frills at Leeds Castle and loved the effect of the beautiful white piping against the latte/champagne base colour.
However, rather than frills, Grace really had her heart set on sugar flowers, so we need to incorporate champagne, lots of beautiful ‘dotty’ piping and some intricate blossoms and roses in vintage pink tones.
Grace and Joe’s colour scheme was beautiful. Exactly what I would choose if I was getting married today. very subtle, very classy and elegant.
We were so pleased with how the cake looked in the setting and can’t wait to see some official images. Have also included some of our close up images of the flowers here…
We have had an education in Twirlywoos this week…
This lovely little cake was ordered by mummy and daddy for Coco’s 2nd Birthday this weekend.
My children are now nearly 4 and 7 so the Twirlywoos weren’t familiar to me. Nadine (who makes most of our models) also has older children so an episode of Twirlywoos had to be enjoyed before creativity began!
Twirlywoos are the latest CBeebies craze and very popular with 0-3’s I am told..
