Hever Castle Weddings – Beautiful Kent Venue

Courtesy of Spencer Cartwright Photography these are the beautiful images of Loretta & Matt’s wedding at Hever Castle back in October.

Loretta and Matt’s chosen theme was ‘rustic autumnal’ and they chose a real vibrant mix of autumnal colour and styles.   We worked with Bluedaisies florists to indenticaly match the fresh floral displays – and create them in sugar.  We couldn’t have been more pleased with how the sugar flowers turned out and how they matched in with the Loretta’s bouquets.

Obviously we speak to the florist in detail as regards the chosen flowers and exact shades – and of course many images are sent backwards and forwards via email!  But, it is not until the actual day, when it all comes together that you really see how well it all works.  I hope you will agree that it co-orindated perfectly. So, thank you to Bluedaisies for your help!

The table centres and venue design was by  Your Beautiful Day.  Like us, Becky knows Hever Castle very well indeed.  Becky and her team created a fantastic autumnal feel.  I absolutely loved the dressing of the chairs – and the table centres were incredible!

We have worked at Hever Castle for 8 years now and never tire of delivering to this stunning venue.   Be it spring, summer, autumn or winter it is the most beautiful backdrop for your wedding day.







Winter Sugar Flowers in Sussex

This is the wedding cake we designed and created for Steph & Alex for their wedding reception in East Sussex last Saturday.

It was actually Alex’s dad who came to see us.. Richard, a pastry chef by trade had been commissioned as ‘wedding cake maker extraordinaire’ a couple of months prior to the wedding day.  Richard, having worked in some of London’s top hotels and kitchens in his time, thought ‘not a problem’!

As the date drew nearer Richard started to practice some of his old skills.  To be fair, the skills honed by a pastry chef are very different to that of sugar craft.  After a spending a weekend at home – dedicated to baking and dabbling in some sugar floristry – Richard turned to Google for help…

By the following weekend, he had visited us at the studio, design agreed, Deposit paid and all booked in.

Steph had chosen some very distinctive flowers in her bouquets and we wanted to match them exactly in sugar.  The ‘black lilies’ were new for us, as were the succulents but we were so pleased with how they came out.

We received a lovely thank you from Richard.  An absolute pleasure to work for.




Disney Frozen Cake!

This is the cake I actually made last week for my daughter Megan’s 4th birthday.

Unfortunately when you run a cake business your children have quite high expectations!

Seeing three, four, five, six, seven and often eight tier cakes going out week after week means that one simple but beautiful singled tiered cake just won’t do..  Yes, I know I am my own worst enemy and I have now set the barr way too high (and will of course regret it next year..!) but I can’t resist her!

Megan loved her cake and I am sure (!?!?) appreciated the time and effort that mum put into it!
