We are so delighted to post these gorgeous images of Emma and Tom’s wedding at Hever Castle a few weeks ago.   With thanks to Kenny Hickey Photography for capturing such beautiful shots (as always..) and for sharing them with us.

Emma told me on the phone the other day that there was a point in time when she wasn’t overly fussed about a big wedding cake(!) but, her mum wore her down and a few weeks later the three of us were sat in the studio discussing just how big and fabulous we should go.

When you book a Castle for your wedding you do, of course, set the stage.  Whilst we have delivered many much smaller and beautiful cakes to Hever Castle over the years, filling that grand window in the Astor Wing with a cake such as this is a real treat.

Emma loved this design that we originally created for a wedding at Leeds Castle a couple of years ago.  But, but she wanted to change the contrasting colour to a vintage pink shade.

Emma and I had many discussions as the exact shade of pink but in the end i asked Emma to please trust our judgement.  The contrasting colour cannot be too pale – or the piping will not ‘pop out’ and certainly not too dark or the over design will look too ‘stripey’. Emma was happy to leave it to us.

Emma and Tom’s cake was a multitude of sponges and fillings – vanilla sponge filled with vanilla bean buttercream and fresh raspberries, a scrumptious chocolate cake filled with cocoa buttercream, light coffee cake with expresso rum cream filling…. and topped off with a rich fruit cake on the top.  The bottom tier was actually a dummy tier as, for their number of guests they just didn’t need that amount of cake.

Emma and Tom were absolutely thrilled with their cake and I also got a huge thank you and a hug from mum..  Emma sent us the most amazing testimonial….

An absolute pleasure to work with this lovely couple and to again have the privilege of delivering to one of the most beautiful castles in England.
