Wedding Cake Trends for 2016

We are very busy with consultations at the moment so we are seeing what brides are looking for in 2016.

What’s really encouraging is that more brides are being a little more daring and veering away from the traditional white for their wedding cake.

It seems that Champagne is the colour of the season and for next year and we are designing lots of beautiful cakes in a stunning pearlised champagne.  The champagne base looks absolutely beautiful when finished with the most delicate white royal ice piping.  To add a further compliment, a blush pink rose – either fresh flowers or exquisite sugar flowers works just wonderfully.

Our ‘flower base’ wedding cakes – be it sugar or fresh – are still so popular and we already have a few bookings for these showstopping cakes for next year.

Naked cakes are still ever in demand but when considering a naked cake do consider that your cake will be exposed to the elements for a few hours before being served to your guests…

If you are looking for something contemporary, then the ombre style wedding cakes are a real centre piece. Perfect if you want your cake to incorporate the theme colour of your wedding.  The ombre designs can be complimented by fresh or sugar flowers.

For something traditional, Hall of Cakes create the most exquisite sugar flowers. Sugar flowers are simply stunning and and will never ever date.  Beautiful and timeless and a gorgeous finish to a perfectly iced wedding cake.

Lastly… Gold Gold Gold!  We have seen a lot of gold in 2015 and this seems set to continue into next year.  Gold leaf, hand painted gold… very regal and incredibly impressive.
