Hall of Cakes Feature on BBC Best of British

Last summer we worked with BBC and the Hairy Bikers as their selected wedding cake designer for their Best of British series.  The 'Wedding' episode went out on December 20th and will be repeated throughout this year.  But if you missed it, click on the link below to see us in action.

Filming took place at the Hall of Cakes studio and kitchen, plus the setting up of the cake at the venue.

The cake featured was one of our luxury victorian wedding cakes,  6 traditional tiers designed and created for Kerry and Phillip Bourne w...

Minnie Frills at Rowhill Grange, Wilmington, Kent

Ali and Simon came to see us around this time last year for their wedding cake design consultation.  Ali and Simon were to be married at Rowhill Grange (Wilmington, Kent) on 8 September 2011

As you will have read on the blog and what goes hand in hand with the job, is that we meet lots and lots of couples from many walks of life and everybody has their own tastes, ideas and themes.

Ali however was somewhat special....!  And I know when I send her the link to this post she will not mind me saying that at all, but instead will burst out l...

Kent Wedding Cake Bookings in 2012!

Happy New Year! Sorry, I guess it's a little bit late for that (!), but it's been a busy start to the year and have had little time for blogging.....

We have already taken some lovely bookings for 2012 - mostly Kent weddings, with a sprinkling of Central London and a couple in Essex - oh and not forgetting a lovely commission for Highclere Castle in September. Very exciting.

Our Kent bookings are spread all over the County and a few on site meetings let us remember how lucky we are to visit such beautiful landmarks.  H...

Kent Vintage in London Bride

Gemma and Duncan visited the studio back in March.  Gemma brought along lots of images, swatches and various collages of bits and pieces she had gathered thus far on her wedding journey.

I knew immediately that when Gemma said 'Vintage' she really meant it.   Lots of couples incorporate vintage touches to their day but Gemma was really keen to ensure that very single detail was 'vintage' in every way.

The wedding venue was Preston Court Farm nr Canterbury, Kent.  A stunni...

The Bourne Victorian Wedding Cake!

These are the stunning images of the wedding cake we designed and created for Kerry and Phil Bourne on 13th August at The Mansion House at Port Lympne Wildlife Park in Kent.

We have commissioned many beautiful wedding cakes this summer and whilst it is not possible to 'blog' them all, you will know from my previous blog posts that it is the traditional Victorian designs that I have such a passion for and (maybe a little sadly!) get incredibly excited about!

Kerry and mum came to see us about a year ago now.  As soon as Kerry wal...

Bow Belles at Hever Castle, Kent....

Last Friday we delivered one of my favourite cakes this year......

Catherine and Steven married in the Italian Gardens at Hever Castle.  The ceremony took place under the beautiful arched columns of the Italian Loggia, which overlooks the 38 acre lake.   The ceremony was followed by drinks on the stone piazza and a formal reception in the newly refurbished Guthrie Pavillion.  The Guthrie Pavillion is absolutely stunning; high vaulted ceilings and floor to ceiling arched windows, overlooking the Italian gardens and lake beyond.  Luckily the wea...

Sevenoaks in the Snow!

18th of December 2010 was not only the day that the snow fell and fell and fell...... but it was also the wedding day of Deborah and Julian, held at  Westheath in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Deborah and Julian had planned a very traditional wedding and had chosen the most beautiful venue.

Westheath School in Sevenoaks was the former boarding school for Lady Diana Spencer, then to become HRH Princess of Wales, and her two sisters Sarah and Jane. Dating back to the 17th Century, Westheath was once an elite boading school, but fell into receivership ...

Beautiful Kent Wedding

Congratulations Lucy & Matthew! On your recent wedding and also for looking completely gorgeous in 28 degrees of sunshine last Saturday.

Eastwell Manor in Kent was the chosen venue and looked absolutely gorgeous in the sunshine when I arrived to deliver the cake.  As you may have already gathered from the blog, I have a real passion for history and adore so many of the beautiful venues that I am privileged to see when meeting clients and delivering wedding cakes.  Eastwell manor is no exception.  A 3,000 acre estat...

Leeds Castle, Kent

We have just been commissioned to make the most incredible wedding cake for delivery to Leeds Castle next spring.  I am not going to give away any detals at the moment, but watch this space......

I can honestly say that each time we are commissioned to design and create a wedding cake for a couple’s special day it is a real honour.  But, as a designer (and somebody who absolutely thrives on challenge!) it is really is so exciting to be given the opportunity to create a confection that is not only an architectural challenge but also one that gives rise to new des...
