Weddings at The Gherkin, London. 30 St. Marys Axe
We were thrilled to be invited to showcase at one of London's most famous landmarks on Sunday - 30 St. Mary's Axe.
Affectionately known as The Gherkin. The building stands at 180 metres tall - the tallest building in the City of London.
We were invited by Searcys, who are the in house caterers at The Gherkin (and many other prestigious London locations - Inner Temple, St. Pancras Grand Champagne Bar, Barbican, Vintners Hall....)

A London City Wedding Cake
These are the images of the 8 tier cake designed and created for the London City Showcase at 1 Lombard Street this week.
I will blog the wedding show separately when the official images are ready as I want to tell you more about the lovely people I worked with.
In the meantime, I thought you might like to see the cake first – and in case you haven’t guessed, I am just a teeny weeny bit proud of my creation!
Hall of Cakes was born on a sun lounger in Thailand exactly 5 years ago (I know the date since it was my honeymoon).

A London Wedding Show - Mon 6th Feb!
Very excited to be taking part in the London Wedding Show 'I Do' at 1 Lombard Street Bar and Brasserie this coming Monday 6th February.
We are still working on the cake for the event - I won't give too much away, but its 8 tiers and absolutely enormous and I just can't wait to finish it!!!!!

5 Star London Luxury, Calligraphy, Flowers & News
I am pleased to say that as we move towards Christmas things are starting to slow down a little at Hall of Cakes. We have a lovely wedding on the 3rd December and then we are wedding free until the New Year.
Usually we do take Christmas bookings, but this year has been such an amazing year for us that we need to take just a few weeks out from cake making to catch up with all the other things that come part and parcel of a running a successful business.

Indian Wedding at London Sofitel
Indian weddings are generally a grand affair and the wedding of Sonia & Sanj on Saturday was certainly no exception!
Sonia & Sanj from Gerrards Cross, came over to us about 6 months ago to discuss the design of their wedding cake.

We have had an amazing summer. We have been lucky enough to work with some fabulous couples, on fabulous cakes (I know, blowing my own trumpet again....!), at some truly fabulous venues.

Cosmo Bride, the BBC and The Apprentice

There are lots of exciting things happening at Hall of Cakes at the moment.
We are delighted that our 'Duchess' design is featured in the August/September issue of Cosmopolitan Bride. The Duchess is one of our most recent designs as has become incredibly popular (I think the amazing wedding gown worn by Kate Middleton may have had something to do with it!). Traditional Tiers, Cupcakes at Hever, A London Corporate Cake.......
The last ten days at Hall of Cakes have been very challenging!
At Hall of Cakes we have a very strict policy of ‘not overbooking’. To facilitate the highest quality of workmanship it is imperative that cakes are not rushed.
Ppiping is properly planned, enough time is set aside for ‘drying out’ and the maximum time is scheduled for delivery. Quality is far more important than quantity.
