Ashridge House Is a venue where a ‘wow factor’ cake is THE only option. We have delivered two incredible cakes to Ashridge in the last year – both for celebrity couples. Danielle Armstrong and also Naomi and Jordan Banjo. Funnily enough, both weddings were within a couple of weeks of each other. Both cakes were huge! Really huge. But, both were very different. Danielle and Tommy chose a very traditional style for their cake. Soft but powerful florals, pastels and soft rustic tones. The cake itself was very traditional. Lots of piping and handcrafted sugar detail. The fresh flowers, we replicated in sugar. Every petal of every flower in every colour was recreated in icing. The overall effect was very beautiful. The cake was placed on the staircase – which itself was decorated in fresh florals, so it really was a stunning centrepiece.
Naomi and Jordan went for a much more contemporary style. Mainly white, which touches of gold and they also included pampas – a particular favourite of Naomi’s. I’ll be honest in saying that combining pampas with cake is tricky. Very tricky. Firstly, it’s not edible so couldn’t actually be inserted into the cake for hygiene reasons. Secondly, it’s such a different look to sugar and icing isn’t it? We had to think of a way to combine the two without the pampas taking over. I am proud to say we managed it and Naomi and Jordan absolutely loved their cake. It even got a mention on Kiss FM!
Cliveden is a venue we had wanted to work with for a long time. The opportunity came up in March this year for a VIP client celebrating a milestone birthday. Unfortunately we are unable to show the images for confidentiality reasons, but needless to say.. it was an enormous cake with SO much detail!
