The Painted Hall is probably the most spectacular dining room to form part of the Old Naval College, in the heart of historic Greenwich.  Despite having lived in South East London for most of my life it is fair to say that apart from a few wedding cake deliveries to Greenwich and the odd school trip (too many years ago!) I haven’t spent nearly enough time appreciating the most amazing history and wonderful architechure which is  literally on my doorstep.

I met our client last week at the Painted Hall.  A meeting set up to discuss where the  wedding cake would be best positioned and to also get a real feel for the venue.  In terms of venue hire, the College boasts various functions rooms, each of them boasting the most superior elegance and fascinating history.  You can choose from the Painted Hall, Admiral’s House, Queen Mary Ante Room, the King William Restaurant or Skittle Alley.  Each functionality varys in size but for a big wedding I do think the Painted Hall really is the most spectacular venue.  The Baroque architecture  is something else and the actual painted ceiling – dating back to 1708 – is breathtaking.

If you a looking for a wedding venue that is truly magnificant or just fancy an historic day out, get yourself down to Greenwich.  Wonderful….
