Affectionately known as The Gherkin.  The building stands at 180 metres tall – the tallest building in the City of London.

We were invited by Searcys, who are the in house caterers at The Gherkin (and many other prestigious London locations – Inner Temple, St. Pancras Grand Champagne Bar, Barbican, Vintners Hall….)

Searcy’s are also the appointed caterers at other beautiful venues outside London –  Blenheim Palace and the Assembly Rooms in Bath.

Having previously worked in the City, I have been lucky enough to dine on the 39th floor of the Gherkin previously, so the breathtaking views over the City had been experienced before.  However, one previous visit still does not prepare you for the moment you step out of the lift and capture what can only be described as being ‘on top of the world.

We were lucky enough to have gorgeous weather  too on Sunday and the cotton wool clouds against the bluest of skies, completed the backdrop perfectly.

The Bar and Restaurant are situated on the 39th and 40th Floors.  The 40th floor being the top floor, is the most incredible event space for any party, wedding or celebration.  The views across London are unparralled and the event space itself is modern and spacious and needless to say flooded with an abundance of natural daylight.

Guests were treated to champagne and canapes whilst they chatted to suppliers about their plans and enjoyed the stunning views.

We will also be exhibiting with Searcys on 28th April at the Champagne Bar at London’s St. Pancras Grand.   Visit http://www.searcys.com for more information on their venues and catering services
